Article 42 of the Regulations of the OLACEFS Charter sets out that, in the discharge of its duties, OLACEFS members are grouped into Committees (2), Technical Commissions (5) and a Working Group, which shall have an unlimited number of members.

In addition to the charter, the aforementioned regulations, the working bodies are subject to the operational guide for the running of committees, commissions and working groups, which regulates the creation, running and termination of OLACEFS Committees, Commissions and Working Groups, identifying the responsible bodies, functions, criteria, procedures and norms that in general regulate these matters.

The term for the OLACEFS Presidency, Committees, Commissions and Working Groups, is triennial, starting on January 1 and ending on December 31 of the third year. This mandate may be extended once, with the exception of the OLACEFS Presidency, to which holders are not immediately re-electable. After the term for the presidency expires, be it one or two terms, the SAI wishing to be re-elected must wait a full three years.

The Executive Secretariat lasts six years and may be extended for an additional 3 years.
