According to the provisions of its charter, OLACEFS is guided by the following principles:
I. The legal equality of the member entities of the Organization, according to their categories.
II. Respect of the laws of each nation and the principles of international law, taking into consideration the independence and sovereignty of each country to make their own decisions concerning the system of control and supervision of the management of public resources.
III. The free entry and retirement of its members.
IV. Compliance with the democratic system of adoption of resolutions by majority and respect for the concept of minorities.
V. The decentralization of activities.
VI. The close and continued cooperation of the organization and its members.
VII. Congregation of, and assistance for, scientists and experts as well as university organizations and professional bodies.
VIII. The spirit of public service and the rejection of political interference of any kind.
