The Seminar on Sustainable Development Goals and Oversight was held from October 23 – 25, 2017, in the Office of the Comptroller General of the Republic of Chile.
All of all the issues addressed by the panels were linked to Sustainable Development Goals, such as strengthening the rule of law, the fight against corruption, supreme oversight of state enterprises; inclusion, participation and democracy; adapting to risks relating to climate change and natural disasters; education indicators, Chile in the international context.
In parallel, from the afternoon of October 24 representatives of 18 OLACEFS members took part in a workshop on SDG 5, “Gender Equality”, which seeks to evaluate the preparedness of the national governments of Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, Curaçao, Ecuador, Guatemala, Mexico, Nicaragua, Paraguay, Peru, Uruguay and the local government of Bogotá, Colombia for implementing SDG 5, aimed at gender equality and empowering all women and girls.
This coordinated audit is also being held in other INTOSAI regions, with support from the INTOSAI Development Initiative (IDI).
