The Extraordinary General Assembly of OLACEFS took place on October 28, an event organized by the Presidency of the Regional Organization. The Assembly had a special character as it was held in virtual mode for the first time in the history of OLACEFS.

The Extraordinary General Assembly had to resolve important issues for the proper development of the OLACEFS, such as the approval of the proposal to hold the XXX Ordinary General Assembly in 2021 in Colombia; maintain the SAIs of Costa Rica and Paraguay as leaders of the technical topics that should be developed during 2021; the approval of the extension of mandates for one year of all the bodies and working groups of the Regional Organization; the request of the #SAI of Italy to join OLACEFS as an associate member; the relaunch of the Latin American and Caribbean Network to Combat Corruption (RLACC) and the formation of the high-level group that will be in charge of managing it.
Additionally, internal administrative topics were discussed, such as the approval of the report on the annual financial audit of the OLACEFS’ financial statements, the way in which the annual operational planning for 2021 will be carried out, and how the budget should be approved by the next Board of Directors meeting, among others.
Holding the Extraordinary General Assembly of the OLACEFS demonstrated to the international community that we are a, resilient and united participatory organization, which does not stop in the face of adverse circumstances such as the COVID-19 pandemic.
