The Office of the Comptroller General of the Republic of Peru will share the experiences obtained in the application of the model of concurrent control based on a preventive approach to the fight against corruption and functional misconduct with authorities and representatives of Supreme Audit Institutions (SAIs) of various countries.

The concurrent control applied by the Peruvian Comptroller’s Office is one of the most important tools it has implemented within the framework of results-oriented management, which seeks to contribute to greater effectiveness and quality of government management, as well as access for the population to better public services.

In this context, the SAI of Peru will hold the international seminar “Benefits of concurrent control and application of technologies,” which will take place on October 2, 9 and 16 and will allow participants to learn about the benefits of the applying state-of-the-art technologies in the application of concurrent control, as well as emblematic cases in the execution of this form of government control. It should be noted that concurrent control in Peru has been implemented in the execution of works related to the Lima 2019 Pan American Games and Peru’s Comprehensive Plan for Reconstruction with Changes (PIRCC).

The Comptroller General of the Republic of Peru and President of OLACEFS, Econ. Nelson Shack Yalta, will be the speaker at the seminar, which will be held under three themes: “Rationality and Description of the Concurrent Control Model” (October 2); “Concurrent Control: Characteristics and control milestones applied to works and supply” (October 9); and “Application of Concurrent Control: Control in times of COVID-19, PIRCC Works and Lima 2019 Pan American and Parapan American Games” (October 16).

The International Seminar is expected to have the participation of the SAIs that belong to the Latin American and Caribbean Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (OLACEFS), as well as the International Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (INTOSAI).
