CTIC conducts a workshop for legislators, parliamentary advisers and regional CSOs on the ODS.OLACEFS.COM portal
The Information and Communication Technologies Committee of OLACEFS (Latin American and Caribbean Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions) chaired by the Auditor General of the General Audit Office of Argentina (AGN), Francisco Javier Fernández, will hold a webinar/workshop on Tuesday, June 15 on the use of the ODS.OLACEFS.COM portal for legislators and parliamentary advisors, as well as universities and stakeholders from academia and civil society organizations (CSOs) committed to the fulfillment of the UN’s 2030 Agenda on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
This tool, developed in collaboration with the German Cooperation Agency GIZ and the Executive Secretary of OLACEFS, actively links the Supreme Audit Institutions with different stakeholders interested in the 2030 Agenda.
The ODS.OLACEFS.COM portal is a website, with the possibility of smartphone access, that seeks to relate the activity of government control bodies (SAIs) through their audit reports and civil society organizations in in relation to the sustainable development goals (SDG) who can share news and experiences on the matter.
The SAIs evaluate the degree of compliance of the governments of the region with the commitments made to the UN 2030 Agenda, which is why the CTIC considers it strategic to join forces with the Legislative Branch so that the reports of the SAIs on the SDGs can serve as inputs in this matter and establish a collaboration mechanism with the participation of legislators, various organizations, universities, and civil society in monitoring compliance with the SDGs set by the UN.
The meeting will take place on Tuesday, June 15 at 2:00 p.m., through the zoom platform and will feature the opening of the President of CTIC, Francisco Javier Fernandez, with a presentation by the Auditor General, Graciela De la Rosa, who as President of the Audit Institutions of Mercosur (EFSUR) will share the experience of the coordinated audit between Mercosur control bodies regarding SDG 5 on Gender Equality. In addition, we will share the views of various civil society organizations, which through the convocation of the OLACEFS Citizen Engagement Commission (CPC) will enrich us with their experiences.
