In order to identify the level of progress in the use of technological tools that support the exercise of government control, the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) coordinated with the Office of the Comptroller General of the Republic (CGR) of Peru as Presidency of the OLACEFS, with the CGR of Chile as Executive Secretariat of OLACEFS, and the support of the General Auditor of the Nation (AGN) of Argentina with the Presidency of the Commission on Information and Communication Technologies (CTIC); a process of gathering information to obtain a general overview of the Latin American and Caribbean Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (OLACEFS), in this matter.

The digital transformation that encompasses the implementation of technological solutions that include data analytics and artificial intelligence together with the cultural transformation of the traditional way of working are presented as invaluable allies to apply efficient, effective and economic control actions. The IDB has been accompanying various SAIs in their digital transformation processes, contributing to the reduction of gaps in the advance in the use of technological solutions that support the exercise of government control in favor of accountability, transparency and integrity. In addition, the IDB also encourages the generation of various knowledge exchange spaces for the dissemination of experiences and lessons learned from SAIs that have achieved greater progress in this transformation process necessary for all SAIs. From the IDB side, and in coordination with the CTIC, we also want to extend the invitation to the SAIs of the region to continue sharing and documenting their experiences and lessons learned, as part of a joint effort to contribute to the process of development and implementation of initiatives with greater use of advanced technology.
